  12.        In line with deltaComm policy, minor updates, such as those from Telix
  13.        for Windows 1.10a to Telix for Windows 1.15a, are free. This patch file
  14.        has been released to take your registered copy of Telix for Windows
  15.        v1.10a ONLY and convert it to a registered v1.15a.
  16.  
  17.        To apply this patch, please follow the directions below precisely:
  18.  
  19.          1) Place the files PATCH.EXE and PATCH.RTP in the same directory that
  20.             you keep TELIX.EXE in.  Exit Windows.  This patch program MUST be
  21.             run when Windows is not loaded, or has been freshly loaded.
  22.  
  23.          2) Run the PATCH.EXE program. Your screen will look somewhat like the
  24.             following, but may differ depending on the revision of Telix you
  25.             are patching (the patch program may patch more files than are
  26.             shown in this example) :

  55.          3) The resultant copy of TELIX.EXE will be the latest release, and
  56.             may be immediately used.
  57.  
  58.  
  59.          4) Some sections of Telix for Windows may have had user modifications
  60.             made to them, notably the Host Mode and the Keyboard Definition
  61.             files.  Because we did not want to overwrite any modifications
  62.             you might have made, the patch program will NOT automatically
  63.             update these files, though they HAVE been corrected in some cases.
  64.  
  65.             A complete set of *.KBD keyboard macros and terminal emulation
  66.             keyboard sequences can be found in the included file KBDFILES.ZIP.
  67.  
  68.             A newer, updated host mode that more closely resembles the
  69.             documentation may be found in the included file WINHOST.ZIP.

  71.             The latest copy of TELIX.MDM has been included outside the patch.

  75.           Q: I get the following error message when applying the patch:
  76.  
  77.              error ept0036: Original file not found. However, a file of the
  78.                             same name was found. No update done since file
  79.                             checksums do not match.
  80.  
  81.           A: PATCH was unable to locate an exact match for the original file
  82.              to be updated. If you think you may be patching the wrong file,
  83.              or if you are certain that you are patching the right file,
  84.              please contact Technical Support at (919) 460-4556 if this
  85.              message persists.
  86.  
  87.              This message may also be caused by another situation: A TSR could
  88.              be interfering with your system and its ability to read the
  89.              original file from disk.
  90.  
  91.              Programs known to cause PATCH.EXE to generate this error are
  92.              Stacker and DoubleSpace, some disk caches, some CD-ROM drivers,
  93.              and some anti-viral software. Anything loaded in your CONFIG.SYS
  94.              and AUTOEXEC.BAT can potentially cause this error. Each can cause
  95.              the checksum of the file you have to differ from the checksum of
  96.              the file we used to build the patch.

  98.              Please try to remove these items from memory if PATCH gives you
  99.              this error, and then start over at step 2.  The best way to do
  100.              this is to boot from a bootable floppy drive that has NO
  101.              CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT.
  102.  
  103.              If all the above steps fail, please upload your TELIX.EXE file
  104.              to deltaComm Online at 919-481-9399 and we will look into the
  105.              possibility of adding support to the patch for your revision.
